Fabrizio: How would you describe the Italian Style and could you mention the most relevant changements in the last few years?

Gabriele: Two words that would best describe Italian Style for me are creativity and innovation, two great qualities that give Made in Italy a strong global competitive advantage. in Italy, since centuries, we have an incredible sense of style. Think about the Renaissance, where Italian craftsmanship was renowned across Europe for its fine fabrics and the manufactures of jewelry and leather goods.

But it’s in the 70ies that Milano becomes one of the leading international fashion capitals. Thanks to Armani, Versace and Valentino, a more defined Italian Style emerges. Italian fashion designers became famous for their luxury, easy to wear and a dynamic style, which was perfect for the city and much more casual and informal compared to the French Haute Couture.

In the last few years we are going in the direction where athleisure and casual meet luxury and strive to become what formalwear has been so far.

Italian style F: Why do you think the Italian Style is so much loved by the foreigners? And talking about Men Style why does every man around the world look at the Italian style as the maximum aspiration of style?

G: I think that what makes Italian Style so popular and appreciated worldwide is coming from our cultural background, our heritage and our lifestyle for example: films, literature, art and the distinctive and the most iconic characters which had made it famous, like Marcello Mastroianni and Anna Magnani just to name a few. Italian Style is very appreciated, especially by foreigners, because of the manufacture, for the quality of the tailoring and of the production, for the fine fabrics and the workmanship that has always been the crown jewel of Italian fashion which makes us leader worldwide for producing luxury goods. In fact, fashion houses across the globe come to Italy to produce their collections.
